| About NJFSF |
|
NJFSF originally started as Skate America 2005, Inc. The need to form a separate 501c3 organization to run the 2005 Skate America event was deemed necessary to protect NJCFSC & it's member clubs in the event of financial deficits.
Skate America 2005, Inc. filed change of name documents to now be known as the New Jersey Figure Skating Foundation (NJFSF or "the Foundation")
NJFSF is the fund raising arm of NJCFSC.
Currently, NJCFSC's only means of income is the annual Championships. This income has previously been the only source funding NJCFSC's very many grant & scholarship programs. As there was a profit after Skate America, the interest derived on the remaining 30% of these profits is given as a grant to NJCFSC. (70% of sk8am profits was released to NJCFSC member clubs as grants) It
is also determined that NJCFSC needs other sources of income - hence an event such as the NJ Skateacular |
